Welcome on the official Website of The Hague Public Transport Museum (HOVM)
(English summary)

Our Mission

The Hague Public Transport Museum shows the history of the public transport in the Hague and its surroundings.

The museum is housed in an old tram depot, named 'Remise Frans Halsstraat'.
This depot was build in 1906 and is added to the national list of historical buildings.

Opening hours

The museum will be closed in 2008, due to a big refurbishing program of the building.

In 2008, there will be no tram rides, due to maintenance of the tram net.

If you are coming to the museum by car, we have to ask you to park the car in the neighbourhood. It is not allowed to park your car on the museum yard!

The Stichting Haags Tram Museum (SHTM), in English the The Hague Tramway Museum Foundation, has the aim to keep the collection historical trams of HTM in good condition. logo shtm.gif (2038 bytes)
Our workload is divided in several parts:
  • Managing the HOVM-museum, in cooperation with HBM
  • Restoration of the trams
  • Keeping the trams in good (technical) condition
  • Elaboration of the rides with the trams

HBM

The Haags Bus Museum (HBM), in English The Hague Bus Museum, is a foundation that tries to save busses that were in service in the city of The Hague and its surroundings.
Therefore, not only busses from HTM are part of the collection, but also busses of NZH, WestNederland and Citosa.

The HBM manages the HOVM-museum together with SHTM.
